Grace Marks

My son comes back from school one day and shares his story of learning a lesson. He had acquired fifty out of fifty in Science but had carelessly marked the question number wrong. His science teacher willingly corrected him and reduced one mark so he learns a lesson to be more careful next time. My son who is usually very sensitive willingly accepted the punishment and was sorry. He swallowed his pride and promised his teacher to be careful next time.

Lesson learnt

As a mother I saw the Lord’s hand in molding His son to build his character. I was proud of my son as he had learnt his lesson through that experience.

Days go by and my son returns from school one day and says excitingly, guess what happened in school today and retrieves his science test paper to show me a fifty out of fifty. I said what happened. He said well my teacher changed his mind after watching me accept the chastisement with humility, forgave me and gave me fifty out of fifty again and told me to be careful next time. He said I thanked the teacher for teaching me and walking me through a lesson in life and I am very, very happy. A sweet and small experience through a child remains a lesson for lifetime. With God’s grace anyone and everyone can win. With His grace anyone and anything can change.

My son has been scoring fifty out of fifty in Science since then.

Gratefulness fills every mother’s heart for all the good teachers guiding the children on the right path in subjects as well as their character. God’s grace marks in life can take one a long way just like grace marks in subjects to pass one through to the next higher level.
